Pascal Rollet
Professor Pascal Rollet specializes in 19th-century French literature and the culture of modern France. He teaches French and Spanish and regularly leads J-Term study tours in the French and Spanish-speaking world.
Since coming to Carthage, he has been committed to the promotion of study abroad, the development of multi-cultural awareness, and the use of music in the language classroom. He has created and published original musical compositions sung in French or Spanish, addressing particular linguistic difficulties encountered by language learners. Most recently, he has been composing music set to his own dramatic reading of popular French short stories. His work is available for all learners and teachers of French and Spanish at prollet.wixsite.com/grammar-in-music
Prof. Rollet earned his Licence en lettres d’enseignement d’anglais from the University of Caen, France; M.A. from the University of Kentucky; and Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, where he held the William Penn and Mellon Dissertation Fellowships. He is fluent in English, French and Spanish. He joined the Carthage faculty in 1993.
